Responsible for effective leadership in managing processes for the Capital Projects Scheduling group that include planning, project execution, and project close-out in a consistent accordance with company policies and guidelines as well as meet client and Company expectations.

 

Ensures properly trained resources are assigned as workload dictates, processes, guidelines, and work instructions are in place and utilized to support company goals and attain 100% of all milestones associated with contract liquidated damages / bonuses.  Grown the scheduling group into a best of class. The Shaw Group (February 2007 to October 2011)

Schedule Manager

 

Overseeing a Consortium contract to provide nuclear engineering services to build four nuclear power plants in mainland China. The Consortium contract is between The Shaw Group and Westinghouse Electric Company utilizing for the Westinghouse AP1000 design with construction duration of 72 months.

 

Participant in negotiations on Level 2 and Level 3 schedule reporting requirements, schedule metrics, work processes, and interfaces from engineering to procurement, construction and startup.

 

Developer of an Integrated Project Schedule (IPS) which includes engineering, procurement, module fabrication, construction and startup.

 

Preparer of quarterly and monthly schedule variance presentations for client and Shaw management. Provider bi-monthly Primavera schedule updates through an XER import process. Provides a variance reporting of total float that includes root cause and mitigation actions to meet the needs of the client’s procurement, construction requirements and commissioning.

 

Established weekly internal schedule reviews to track schedule metrics, implementation of trends, mid-month earned value reporting, schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis.

 

Supervisor overseeing five schedulers with varying skill sets. Developed three previous entry level schedulers and promoted them into the home office engineering team, off-shore project management office and off-shore startup/commissioning scheduler. 

 

Participates in various China AP1000 workshops, held in Beijing or Shanghai, China to align Consortium engineering and procurement schedules to the client’s needs and contract requirements. In December of 1997 Duke Engineering & Services acquired the Nuclear Services Division of Yankee Atomic Electric Company. In May, 2002 AREVA - Framatome ANP purchased DE&S. Senior Project Controls Specialist for the Projects Office12/00-02/07

 

Perform project scheduling/planning of major component replacements for nuclear power plants; domestic and international. The project schedules include: project management, design, analysis, engineering, licensing, procurement, fabrication(domestic and international), delivery and installation of: replacement reactor vessel head (Diablo Canyon/Turkey Point/St. Lucie/DC Cook/Calvert Cliffs/ANO), replacement Pressurizer (St. Lucie & Millstone), permanent canal seal plate (Millstone), independent spent fuel storage installations (YAEC, CY, Duke Energy, MY, Constellation, etc.).

 

Performed various project management functions such as: monthly status reports to vice president of AREVA, Earned Value Reporting, direct client contact, Invoice reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, participated in risk review meetings, contract change order tracking, development of work breakdown structure for existing and future work and provides variance explanations of actual costs to the planned construction budget as well as schedule variance.

Through the use of report writing tools (CP Reports), Primavera, project managers are provided various analyses so that business decisions can be informatively made based upon Earned Value, Cost Performance Index, Schedule Performance Index, Estimate to Complete and other financial data and reports.

 

Provides automated project reporting for: Project Summary Report, Unbilled/Deferred Revenue Analysis, Aged Receivable Greater than 60 Days, Revenue versus Costs, download file to Primavera, etc.

 

Established internal project controls that will allow for: tracking actual revenues and cost against Not To Exceed values, annual budgets, consistent project setup procedures, lower the number of days an invoice is outstanding, expedited/automated the invoice process.
